Final day of Trinity Forest Invitational washed out

DALLAS — The final day of the inaugural Trinity Forest Invitational has been washed out due to heavy rains in the Dallas area overnight.

Originally scheduled for 54 holes, the field was able to play only one of two scheduled rounds on Monday due to inclement weather. Tuesday's final round was cancelled due to unplayable conditions on the Trinity Forest Golf Club par-72, 6,236-yard course, deeming first-round results as final.

Aimee Ponte carded a 76 to finish in a seven-way tie for 13th at 4-over-par and lead UTSA to a 12th-place finish.

Becky McGeehan tied for 38th after posting an 80, while Nikki Long ended up one shot back and in a tie for 46th.

Julie Houston and Madison Kidd rounded out the UTSA lineup in 52nd (82) and 61st (83), respectively.

The Roadrunners finished 12th after registering a 319, one shot behind Mississippi State and just four strokes out of a tie for eighth shared by No. 30 Texas Tech, No. 45 Kansas State and Kansas (315).

No. 46 Michigan shot a 304 to edge No. 22 Texas A&M (305) for the team title. No. 21 Baylor and No. 25 Ohio State (306) tied for third and UNLV (307) was fifth.

Texas A&M's Bianca Fabrizio claimed the individual crown with a 1-under 71.

UTSA will return to action on Feb. 19-21 at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate in New Orleans, La.
