SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will host neighboring Trinity in its final tune-up of the season on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
In its first exhibition game of the season against Texas A&M International, UTSA notched a 75-34 victory behind the performances of Loryn Goodwin, Marie Benson and Carlie Heineman. The trio combined for almost half the team's points with 13, 12 and 10 points respectively.
The Roadrunners set the tone early, as they used a 14-0 run in the first quarter that gave them a 16-2 lead and eventually a 43-13 advantage at the half.
Division III Trinity makes the trek across town for its only exhibition action of the season. The Tigers posted a 22-6 record during the 2015-16 season and ended the campaign ranked No. 22 in the NCAA First Round Playoff game against Claremont-Mudd Scripps College.
The Tigers' postseason appearance was the first since 2013 and second time under head coach Cameron Hill. It also marked the eighth overall postseason tournament for the Tigers since 1995.
UTSA will open the regular season at home on Friday, Nov. 11, when the Roadrunners host Angelo State at 7 p.m.
