SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA volleyball team will host Florida Atlantic and FIU this weekend in the Roadrunners' final home matches of the season. Friday's match against the Owls is scheduled for 6 p.m., while Sunday's contest against FIU will begin at 1 p.m.
UTSA (16-6. 7-3 C-USA) will look to bounce back from its loss at Louisiana Tech. The Roadrunners' win against UAB two days before secured a spot in the conference tournament, which will be played from Nov. 18-20 in Houston.
The Roadrunners are now in a three-way tie for fourth in the Conference USA standings with Southern Miss and Marshall and hold the advantage over the Golden Eagles with a win early in the season.
UTSA boasts a C-USA fifth-best .240 hitting percentage and continue to lead the league in service aces with 1.66 per set. Despite minimal action over the weekend, Dajana Boskovic sits atop the standings with 4.67 kills per frame and adds 2.22 digs and 0.78 blocks per set.
Florida Atlantic travels to the Lone Star State in third in the C-USA standings with an 8-2 mark and 13-11 overall record. The Owls are coming off a 3-1 loss to Marshall, which snapped an eight-match win streak.
Leading the charge for the Owls is Maja Ristic with 3.61 kills per set, best for fourth in C-USA. Brianna Wojciakowski also boasts a .339 hitting percentage, best for sixth in the league, that helps the team's .231 attack percentage.
FIU will face UTEP before heading to the Alamo City on Sunday. The Panthers bring an 8-16 overall record and a 2-8 mark in the conference. FIU is coming off a 3-0 loss to neighbor Florida Atlantic.
