Louisiana Tech downs UTSA on Friday night, 3-0

SAN ANTONIO — Louisiana Tech scored a pair of late goals to pull away and register a 3-0 victory at UTSA on Friday night at Park West Athletics Complex.

Junior Kaja Skare totaled a team-high three shots for the Roadrunners (7-12, 3-7 C-USA), who saw their season come to an end. The home squad out-shot the Lady Techsters (14-4-1, 6-3 C-USA), 15-10, but it was unable to find the back of the net.

Louisiana Tech leading scorer Kathryn Sloan put the visitors on the board first with a goal in the 19th minute. Lisanne Kleygrewe slipped a pass past the UTSA backline and Sloan converted a one-on-one attempt with Roadrunners goalie Michelle Cole for the 1-0 lead.

The Lady Techsters took the slim lead into halftime and the score would remain 1-0 until the 79th minute.

After a Roadrunners foul in the penalty box, Annabel Prior converted the ensuing penalty kick to double the score. The visitors notched their final goal in the 86th minute, when Mylene Roy-Ouellet scored on a breakaway to provide the final 3-0 margin.

The loss closed the season for the Roadrunners, who produced their best win total since the 2011 season.

Following the match, UTSA seniors Katherine Tesno, Brianna Livecchi and Alexis Alaniz were honored on the field as part of Senior Night festivities. Livecchi led the Roadrunners with four goals during Conference USA action and she produced a career-high five goals for the season, while Alaniz also set a career best with three goals and led the team with 1,708 minutes played.
