Roadrunners to begin postseason competition at Saturday's Conference USA Championships

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's cross country team will begin postseason competition this weekend when it races at Saturday's Conference USA Championships in Concord, N.C. The 5,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. (CT) at Frank Liske Park.

Yulisa Abundis, Sarah Estrada, Olivia Flores, Colleen Gilbert, Gabby Gonzales, Grace Kohler, Stephanie Sauceda and Emily Voss are scheduled to compete for the Roadrunners, who will be making their fourth appearance as a member of the league.

UTSA was picked to finish eighth in the preseason C-USA poll that was announced by the league office back in August.

Four different Roadrunners have paced the Roadrunners at their four meets this fall. Kohler was 15th at the season-opening Aggie Opener (Sept. 2) and Gilbert followed two weeks later with a 21st-place effort at the Texas Invitational (Sept. 16). Voss placed 77th at the Texas A&M Invitational (Sept. 24) and Abundis crossed the finish line 66th at the squad's last outing two weeks ago at the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 15).

UTSA have won six league crowns in program history, including the 2013 C-USA title in its first year as a member of the conference. The Roadrunners also captured three consecutive Southland Conference Championships from 1991-93 and back-to-back titles in 1995-96.
