Roadrunners to travel east for UAB and Louisiana Tech

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will hit the road for a pair of road matches at UAB and Louisiana Tech this Friday and Sunday as three weekends remain in regular season action.

UTSA (15-5) had its home record snapped on Sunday with its loss to WKU. After taking the opening set in thrilling fashion, the Lady Hilltoppers returned to take the next three sets to extend their win streak to 13.

The Roadrunners dropped to a tie for fourth in the Conference USA standings and own a 6-2 mark in league play. UTSA now sits fifth in the league in hitting percentage with a .242 clip and still owns the second-best opponent hitting percentage with a .180. In conference only matches, the Roadrunners top the league in digs per set, averaging 15.97 per frame.

Dajana Boskovic continues to lead the Roadrunners offense putting up 4.81 kills per set and moves to sixth in the nation. She also ranks top-30 in four other statistical categories.

The Roadrunners will first face off with UAB on Friday at 7 p.m. UAB is 11-14 overall and 3-6 in C-USA. The Blazers are winners of its last two contests with wins over Alabama State (non-conference) and Middle Tennessee. As of Thursday, UAB would be the final team to earn a spot at the conference tournament.

UTSA will then travel to Ruston, La., to take on Louisiana Tech on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Lady Techsters are 10-15 on the season and 1-8 in conference play. LA Tech is currently on a four-match losing streak with its last win coming in non-conference action against Grambling State.
