UTSA to host Maryb S. Kauth Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's golf team will host this week's Maryb S. Kauth Invitational. The three-day tournament is scheduled to tee off on Sunday morning at Briggs Ranch Golf Club (par 72/6,450 yards). Admission is free.

Formerly called The Alamo Invitational and renamed to honor the late Maryb S. Kauth, the three-day, 54-hole tournament will feature No. 9 Arkansas, No. 21 SMU, No. 23 Tennessee, No. 32 Auburn, No. 35 TCU, No. 39 Texas A&M, No. 41 Kansas State, No. 49 Old Dominion, Houston, LSU, Mississippi State, Texas State, Tulane and the Roadrunners.

The field will play 18 holes each day with tee times beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday and 8:30 a.m. on Monday, followed by an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.

UTSA is coming off a 12th-place finish at the Jim West Challenge on Oct. 9-10 in The Woodlands, Texas. Julie Houston carded a 1-under-par 215 to tie for 20th place to lead the Birds.

The Roadrunners finished fifth at last year's event with an 884. Brogan Townend led the way by tying for sixth with a 1-over-par 217, while Aimee Ponte was 12th with a 218.
