Voss leads UTSA at Saturday's Texas A&M Invitational

COLLEGE STATION — Emily Voss led the UTSA women's cross country team at Saturday's Texas A&M Invitational.

Voss, a sophomore from Katy, covered the 6,000-meter Dale Watts Cross Country Course in 23:11.5 en route to finishing 77th in the field of 166 runners.

Meanwhile, Yulisa Abundis (79th/23:14.3), Gabby Gonzales (97th/23:48.6), Stephanie Sauceda (103rd/23:60.0) and Grace Kohler (107th/24:07.4) rounded out the team's scoring contingent.

Texas A&M's Karis Jochen won the individual crown in 20:14.2.

Rice (70) edged Baylor (72) by two points for the team title, while Lipscomb (80) rounded out the top three. The Roadrunners placed 13th in the 17-team field with their 341 points.

UTSA will return to action in three weeks when it travels to the West Coast for the Bronco Invitational. The meet is scheduled for 11 a.m. (CT) in Sunnyvale, Calif.
