Boskovic, Waldrip garner Conference USA Offensive Player, Setter of the Week accolades

IRVING — UTSA captured its third tournament title in as many weeks this past weekend and had top performances from Dajana Boskovic and Jessica Waldrip en route to earning Conference USA Offensive Player and Setter of the Week honors, respectively, the league office announced Monday.

Boskovic picked up her third tournament MVP honor after averaging six kills per set with a .338 attack percentage. In a five-set victory over Wichita State, the senior outside hitter eclipsed her previous high in kills with 31. The Bosnia native posted a season-best .400 clip in a sweep of Texas Tech and registered back-to-back matches with four blocks to match a season high and finished the weekend with 10 total swats.

Meanwhile, Jessica Waldrip earned her first award of the season after helping UTSA to a .323 team hitting percentage over the weekend, while averaging 11 assists per set. Waldrip also joined Boskovic on the all-tournament team. The senior collected another two matches of 40-plus assists with 48 and 51 against Texas State and Wichita State, respectively. She also recorded her third double-double of the season with a season-best 51 helpers and a career high 24 digs.

UTSA will open Conference USA action at 1 p.m. on Sunday against Southern Miss.
