SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA football program will host its annual Fan Appreciation Day presented by Ancira from 2-4 p.m. this Saturday at the Convocation Center. Admission is free and parking will be available in the Brackenridge Avenue lots located in front of the Convo.
There will be an autograph session with the team and prize giveaways and fans also will get a chance to hear from UTSA Director of Athletics Lynn Hickey and first-year head coach Frank Wilson.
A tailgating competition (entries are closed) will be held in the parking lot and it will be judged by offensive coordinator Frank Scelfo and defensive coordinator Pete Golding. The winner will receive a $250 gift card from H-E-B.
The Roadrunners will open their sixth season of play against Alabama State on Saturday, Sept. 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Alamodome. It will be UTSA's first season opener at home since its inaugural 2011 campaign.
