UTSA participates in Conference USA Football Kickoff

IRVING — UTSA's 2016 season got off to an unofficial start this week when first-year head coach Frank Wilson, senior safety Michael Egwuagu and senior running back Jarveon Williams participated in the Conference USA Football Kickoff at the league's headquarters in Las Colinas.

The UTSA trio meet with the conference's broadcast partners (ESPN/American Sports Network/beIN Sports/Campus Insiders), along with print and electronic media on Monday before previewing the upcoming campaign with Ron Thulin in front of a national audience on ESPN3 the next day (click here to watch a replay).

Monday night featured a night of food, fun and games for the student-athletes at Main Event Entertainment in Grapevine, while Wilson met with the league's bowl partners over dinner.

The Roadrunners will open their sixth year of play on Saturday, Sept. 3, against Alabama State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Alamodome and it will the program's first season opener at home since its inaugural 2011 campaign.
