Folds of Honor Military Tribute Program bag auction update

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf program's Folds of Honor Military Tribute Program (FHMTP) replica bag auction in honor of the late Navy Special Operations Chief (SEAL) David M. Collins is underway and the bid now is up to $575 as of June 10.

Anyone interested in bidding on the bag should contact assistant coach Kyle Collins at kyle.collins@utsa.edu or (210) 827-2774. The auction will conclude on July 31.

All proceeds will be given to the FHMTP, a program that raises money to give scholarships to the children of wounded warriors and fallen soldiers.

The Roadrunners paid tribute to late Collins throughout the 2015-16 campaign by participating in the FHMTP. At each tournament this past season, one member of the team carried the commemorative golf bag to pay tribute to Collins, who passed away from service-connected wounds on March 12, 2014.

The FHMTP provides the opportunity for any collegiate or high school golf program to honor a fallen or severely wounded American soldier by having a team member carry a golf bag displaying the name, rank and branch of service of the soldier being honored during the school year.
