Roadrunners' season comes to end at NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds

LAWRENCE, Kan. — UTSA's women's track & field team saw its season come to an end this weekend at the NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds.

Paige Patterson clocked a time of 55.75 in the fourth of six quarterfinal heats in the 400 meters on Friday and that was good for 35th in the field of 48 sprinters. All individual running events were contested as quarterfinals this weekend after Thursday's opening day was suspended due to ongoing thunderstorms.

The Roadrunners' other entry of the three-day meet, their 1,600m relay, competed on Saturday. The quartet of Jennifer Arinze, Sierra Andres, Patterson and Evelyn Clark passed the baton in 3:38.75 en route to 20th place and that was the fourth-best performance in program history.
