UTSA to face Baylor in final home game of season on Tuesday night

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will play its final home contest of the season on Tuesday night when it hosts Baylor. The second meeting between the two squads this season is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Roadrunners (15-34), who have dropped their last seven outings, are led by J.T. Gilmore's .316 batting average. He is followed by Bryan Arias, who sports a .313 average with 56 hits (13 for extra bases) and a .419 slugging percentage.

Right-hander Chance Kirby leads the pitching staff with a 4.06 ERA through 75.1 innings of action. Kirby has made 15 appearances, including 11 starts, and struck out  48 hitters this spring.

Baylor (22-26) makes the trek to the Bird Bath following last weekend's series win against then-No. 10 TCU. The Bears were unable to complete the sweep following a 7-3 loss on Sunday.

Matt Menard leads Baylor's season stat sheet with a .336 batting average on the strength of 44 hits, including 10 doubles and six home runs. He also has scored 27 runs, registered 20 RBIs and drawn 16 walks. Meanwhile, closer Troy Montemayor leads the pitching staff with 12 saves in 22 appearances and an 0.86 ERA in 21 innings of work.
