No. 75 Old Dominion downs UTSA on Thursday, 4-0

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — No. 75 Old Dominion ended UTSA's season with a 4-0 victory in Thursday's opening round of this weekend's Conference USA Tournament.

The fourth-seeded Monarchs (13-7), who were facing the Roadrunners for the first time in program history, jumped out to an early lead by winning both of the completed doubles contests.

Borislava Botusharov and Marijana Novakovic defeated Sonia Madroñal Medina and Alena Shichkova by a score of 6-2 at the third spot in the lineup and that was followed by a 6-4 win by Nikol Hristova and Nataliya Vlasova over Lina Hallgren and Charlene Tiwari on court two.

Old Dominion went on the sweep the three completed singles matches in straight sets against 13th-seeded UTSA (10-12), which was playing for the first time since concluding the regular season 18 days ago and its third consecutive match against a nationally-ranked opponent.

Vlasova got past Shichkova at the third position (6-4, 6-2), Botusharov downed Miriam Rosell Canudas on center court (6-3, 6-3) and Hristova cruised past Tiwari on the fourth court (6-1, 6-2).
