AUSTIN — Paige Patterson raced to an eighth-place finish in the 400 meters to lead the UTSA women's track & field team at Saturday's Texas Invitational.
Patterson circled the Mike A. Myers Stadium oval in 55.67, which placed her eighth in the field of 17 sprinters.
Stephanie Wangui had the Roadrunners' other top-10 finish of the meet when she crossed the finish line 10th in the 800m. The senior from Leander registered a time of 2:10.87.
Meanwhile, Syd Howells recorded a pair of personal bests in the 100m and 200m with her times of 11.93 and 24.58, respectively.
UTSA will return to action next weekend at the Triton Invitational. The two-day meet is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 22, in La Jolla, Calif.
