COLLEGE STATION — UTSA opened its indoor season at Saturday's Texas A&M 11-Team Invitational.

The Roadrunners scored nine points at the one-day meet and finished in 11th place in the team standings. Texas claimed the team title with 122.5 points, while meet host Texas A&M (92.75) and Baylor (78.75) rounded out the top three.

UTSA's distance medley relay registered the squad's highest finish of the meet after placing fifth on Friday night in a time of 12:18.91.

Meanwhile, Shalise Borden registered a measurement of 53-4½ (16.27m) and that was good for seventh place in the weight throw. It is tied for the third-best mark in program history.

The Roadrunners' 1,600-meter relay quartet earned a pair of points by virtue of its ninth-place performance in the final event of the day. The foursome passed the baton in 3:47.90, which was the fifth-fastest time in school annals.

Stephanie Wangui was the UTSA's other scorer, as she finished eighth in the 800m in a time of 2:14.47.

The Roadrunners will return to action on Friday, Jan. 29, at the John Thomas Terriers Classic in Boston, Mass.
