Boskovic garners honorable mention All-Southwest Region accolades

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Dajana Boskovic earned honorable mention All-Southwest Region accolades from the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Boskovic picked up her second career all-region honor after helping UTSA to its sixth consecutive 20-plus win season under the direction of head coach Laura Neugebauer-Groff. Both reached milestones in 2015 with Boskovic recording her 1,000th career kill on Sept. 21 and Neugebauer-Groff reaching her 500th career win against North Texas (Sept. 27).

The 6-foot-1 outside hitter led the Roadrunners with 4.53 kills per set, which ranked third in Conference USA and 13th nationally. She also averaged 2.79 digs per set (265) and totaled 76 blocks (11 solos/65 assists) at the net.

Boskovic reached double-figure kills 23 times, including eight of 20 or more, and she registered a team-leading 14 double-doubles. In a road contest against Florida Atlantic, Boskovic recorded a career-best 29 kills and then followed that performance two weeks later with a career-high 19 digs at Southern Miss.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina native was a first-team all-conference selection and tabbed the league’s offensive player of the week four times.
