SAN ANTONIO — All 10 players that saw action scored at least two points and UTSA rolled to an 88-51 victory against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday at the Convocation Center.
Three players reached double figures with Tesha Smith leading the way once again. Smith netted a game-high 17 points off of 7-of-10 shooting from the field with five rebounds and one block Alexus Dukes added a dozen to go along with three rebounds, an assist and a steal, while Crystal Chidomere scored 10 points and matched her career bests of four steals and five rebounds.
The Roadrunners (4-4) shot 53.6 percent (37-of-69) from the field and held the visiting Javelinas, who used the contest as an exhibition, to just 28.1 percent (16-of-57) shooting.
After leading only by three points in the first quarter, 19-16, UTSA held Texas A&M-Kingsville to just 10 points in the second and led 48-26 at the half.
The Roadrunners continued their scoring barrage and led by as many as 41 points late in the fourth quarter at the 88-47 mark on a free throw by Smith.
Kaylin Roher led Texas A&M-Kingsville with 11 points and four assists while Ope Ibrahim added 10 points.
UTSA will host UT Arlington at 7 p.m. on Monday.
