Roadrunners remain 12th in this week's NCAA South Central Region rankings

NEW ORLEANS, La. — The UTSA women’s cross country team remained 12th in this week's NCAA South Central Region rankings, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Monday.

The Roadrunners rank third among Conference USA programs, behind only Rice (third) and North Texas (ninth). Arkansas, SMU, Texas, and Stephen F. Austin joined the Owls in the top five.

Yulisa Abundis raced to a 26th-place performance, covering the 5,000-meter Spero Kereiakes Park trail in 18:41.1, in leading UTSA to eighth place at Saturday's Conference USA Championships in Bowling Green, Ky. Grace Kohler finished 34th, while Kerstin Sheehan (40th) Lauren Haney (49th) and Charlette Janicek (65th) rounded out the Roadrunners’ scoring contingent in the field of 97 runners.

UTSA will return to action next Saturday, Nov. 13, for the NCAA South Central Regional at College Station.
