NEW ORLEANS, La. — UTSA moved up three spots to 12th in this week’s NCAA South Central Region rankings, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Monday.
The Roadrunners are third among Conference USA programs within the region, behind North Texas (sixth) and Rice (eighth).
Dusan Makevic raced to a fourth-place finish to pace UTSA to sixth place at Saturday's Conference USA Championships in Bowling Green, Ky. The junior from Sabac, Serbia, was one of seven runners to earn a first-team all-league accolades following his performance.
Meanwhile, Alex Cruz crossed the finish line in 31st place and Saul Vasquez (37th), John Von Dohlen (41st) and Mark Gonzalez (43rd) rounded out the Roadrunners' scoring contingent in the field of 84 runners.
UTSA will return to action next Saturday, Nov. 13, for the NCAA South Central Regional at College Station.
