SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will travel west to continue its season-opening road trip with three games in five days, beginning with a 9 p.m. (CT) matchup at Southern Utah on Saturday night.
The Roadrunners (0-3) are coming off their best offensive output of the season as five players set career or season scoring bests on Tuesday at Creighton. Ryan Bowie led the way with 23 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth career double-double, while Gino Littles added a career-high 16 points and five assists.
Meanwhile, the Thunderbirds (0-2) will play their first home game of the campaign after road defeats at Utah and UNLV. Three players average at least 11 points per game, led by Trey Kennedy’s 11.5 per outing. Southern Utah returns all five starters from last season’s team and the Thunderbirds were picked to finish fifth in the Big Sky Conference by the league’s coaches.
Saturday’s broadcast can be heard in the San Antonio area on KBUC 92.5/93.3 FM with Jay Howard on the call. The pregame show will start at 8:30 p.m. (CT).
