IRVING — Kylie Schott was one of 12 student-athletes recognized for their efforts in the classroom on Thursday, as she landed on the Conference USA All-Academic Team.
Schott, a history major who maintains a 3.92 GPA, helped the Roadrunners (22-8) earn the No. 2 seed at the Conference USA Tournament with a 13-3 mark in league action. The Cypress native has been the Roadrunners’ top hitter throughout the season with a .351 clip and leads the squad with 101 total blocks (1.01 bps).
The 6-foot-1 middle hitter notched career highs this season in kills and hitting percentage with 13 winners at Rice and a .833 hitting percentage at UAB. She earned the league’s first defensive player of the week and has 13 matches of four-plus blocks, including a season-best seven at Florida Atlantic.
Schott ranks third all-time in the UTSA record books in total blocks with 426.
UTSA will open the C-USA Tournament at noon on Friday against seventh-seeded FIU.
