UTSA swept at North Texas in regular season finale

DENTON — UTSA closed its regular season slate with a three-set loss (25-22, 25-23, 25-14) at North Texas on Saturday afternoon.

The Roadrunners (22-8, 13-3 C-USA) were held to their lowest hitting percentage of the season, as the Mean Greem outhit UTSA .304-.092.

Dajana Boskovic recorded yet another double-double on a team-leading 14 kills and 12 digs. Marijeta Runjic added 10 winners.

Despite a late 4-0 run, UTSA dropped the opening set 25-23 and the Roadrunners then were unable to maintain their lead in the following set.

North Texas (19-12, 11-5 C-USA) managed to work its way back in the second set and tied the score on several occasions. After the final tie was drawn at 22, the Mean Green scored the final three points to close out the stanza.

UTSA never held a lead in the final set after North Texas took an early commanding lead. The Roadrunners were held to a .034 clip, while the Mean Green hit .435.

UTSA will be the No. 2 seed at next weekend's Conference USA Tournament, which will be played at the Convocation Center, and the Roadrunners will open play at noon on Friday, Nov. 20, against seventh-seeded FIU.
