Women's golf program signs Madison Kidd to National Letter of Intent

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head women's golf coach Carrie Parnaby announced Friday that she has signed Madison Kidd (Lake Jackson, Texas/Brazoswood HS) to a National Letter of Intent. She will join the Roadrunners beginning with the 2016-17 season.

"We are very excited to welcome Madison to the UTSA family," Parnaby said. "She is passionate about the sport and she's a grinder who never gives up on the golf course. She is one of the top players in the state and will be a great addition to our team next fall. We look forward to her arrival."

Kidd won a pair of tournaments and had eight additional top-10 finishes on the junior circuit this year. She shot a 71 to claim top honors at the Insperity Invitational American Junior Golf Association Junior Championship in June and carded a 71-68-70—209 to win the Eddie Burke Young Houstonian in July. She had third-place efforts at the David Toms Foundation Shreveport Junior (74-77-72—223), the Arrowhead Junior at The Bluffs (73-82-74—229) and the James A. Ragan Memorial (76-76—152) and was 10th at the Valero Junior Texas Open. Kidd also was the individual medalist at the 2014 Cypress Lakes Junior Championship with a 78-77—155 last November.

As a standout for Brazoswood High School, Kidd fired a 145 that included the field's low round of 70 on the final day to place fourth in her third straight trip to the state tournament in May. She was the Region III-6A runner-up with a 71-74—145 and is a two-time district champion. She also is a member of the National Honor Society.
