NEW ORLEANS, La. — The UTSA women’s cross country team entered this week's NCAA South Central Region rankings for the first time this season, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Monday.
The Roadrunners are 12th and third among Conference USA programs, behind only Rice (sixth) and North Texas (10th). Arkansas, Baylor, SMU, Texas A&M and Lamar made up the top five.
Grace Kohler completed the 6,000-meter Baylands Regional Park loop at last Saturday's Broncos Invtiational in 21:39.7 en route to 52nd place. She was followed by Yulisa Abundis (63rd), Kerstin Sheehan (96th), Lauren Haney (102nd) and Charlette Janicek (144th). Emily Perez (149th) and Vanessa Lerma (156th) rounded the Roadrunners' finishers in the field of 172 runners.
UTSA will begin postseason competition on Oct. 31 at the C-USA Championships in Bowling Green, Ky.
