SAN ANTONIO — UTSA continues its trek for its third Conference USA regular season title when the Roadrunners return to the Alamo City to host Marshall at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The Roadrunners (14-6, 5-1 C-USA) welcome the Thundering Herd off Thuraday's crucial five-set victory at Rice. Originally scheduled for Sept. 22 but postponed due to illness throughout the Owls team, the match was a make-up of that contest.
It was a career day for UTSA, as the team recorded a season-best 14 blocks, while three Roadrunners registered career marks. Kylie Schott went for 13 kills and Megan Slan and Antonela Jularic each had 10 and five blocks apiece.
Dajana Boskovic continues to move up in the season box score, as she averages a 4.07 kills per set to go along with 164 digs and 43 blocks.
As a team, the Roadrunners are hitting .254 (2nd C-USA) and holding opponents to a .163 attack percentage, which ranks 29th in the NCAA.
Defensively, Schott and Slan are third and sixth, respectively, in the league standings in blocks per set. Schott leads the team with 76 total blocks and she is third all-time in the UTSA record books with 401.
Marshall (13-8, 4-4 C-USA) makes the journey to the Alamo City following its five-set win at UTEP on Friday night. Ally Kiekover is hitting a team-best .391 (3rd C-USA/38th NCAA) while averaging 2.64 kills per set. She also leads the team with 49 blocks. As a team, the Thundering Herd is outhitting its opponents .209-.191 on the strength of 12.69 kills per set. Meanwhile, Allie Kellerman is averaging a league-best 4.65 digs per set, which is best for 63rd in the NCAA.
