SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men’s cross country team will return to action on Saturday for the Broncos Invitational. The 8,000-meter race is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. (CT) at Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale, Calif. The meet will serve as the Roadrunners' final tuneup for the Conference USA Championships, which are scheduled for Oct. 31 in Denton.
UTSA and meet host Santa Clara will compete against runners from California, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Loyola Marymount, New Mexico State, Sacramento State, Saint Mary’s, San Diego, San Jose State, Stanford, Texas Tech, UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara.
Dusan Makevic led the Roadrunners with a fourth-place finish at the Longhorns Invitational back on Oct. 2. The junior from Sabac, Serbia, covered the 8,000-meter Balcones-Spicewood Springs course in 25:30.6 for his second top-five finish in as many meets this season.
Saul Vasquez completed the loop in 26.35.6 en route to a 23rd-place finish and Alex Cruz, who placed 33rd in 26:54.2, followed him. John Von Dohlen (37th/27:11.8) and Montgomery Bertschy (41st/27:23.3) rounded out the UTSA's scorers.
