UTSA falls at No. 21 Texas Tech on Friday night, 4-0

LUBBOCK — No. 21 Texas Tech jumped ahead with three goals in the first half and never looked back in a 4-0 victory against UTSA on Friday night at John Walker Soccer Complex.

The Red Raiders (3-1) got on the board early when Alli Murphy found Ashley Casey in the fourth minute for a goal. The advantage grew to 3-0 following goals by Caity Heap and Briana Rohmer in the 18th and 24th minutes, respectively.

Katherine Tesno entered the contest after the flurry and went on to record six saves, which tied a season high, against just one goal allowed for the Roadrunners (0-4).

Mackenzie Kahan found the back of the net in the 54th minute to provide the final tally of the night.

The Texas Tech defense kept UTSA away from goalies Lauren Watson and Carissa Christensen en route to the squad’s second shutout of the campaign.

The Roadrunners will be back in action at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday when they face Oklahoma (2-2) at the OU Soccer Complex.
