COLLEGE STATION — Kerstin Sheehan raced to a top-10 finish to lead the UTSA women's cross country team at Friday's Aggies Opener.
Sheehan, a junior from Kingwood, covered the Dale Watts Cross Country Course 4,000-meter trail in 14:51.8 en route to 10th place in the field of 29 runners.
Charlette Janicek (15:04.8), Lauren Haney (15:05.8) and Yulisa Abundis-Carbajal (15:06.1) finished 13th through 15th place, respectively, and Emily Perez rounded out the the Roadrunners' scoring contingent with her 22nd-place performance (15:35.9).
UTSA finished second behind meet host Texas A&M with 50 points.
The Roadrunners will return to action in three weeks at the Islanders Splash in Corpus Christi. The meet is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25.
