EUGENE, Ore. — Keyunta Hayes and Jurmarcus Shelvin both were unable to advance to the national 400-meter hurdles final on Wednesday night.
Hayes circled the historic Hayward Field oval in 51.68 in the second of three semifinal heats, which was good for 18th place in the field of 24 hurdlers.
Meanwhile, Shelvin clocked a 53.36 in the opening section of the evening and that ranked 23rd.
However, the pair both earned honorable mention All-America honors for their efforts. It marks the third certificate of Hayes' illustrious career, while Shelvin earned his first.
