AUSTiN — UTSA's men's track & field team wrapped up competition late Saturday night during the final day of competition at this weekend's NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds and its two entries of the day were unable to advance to the next round.
Dionte Robinson clocked a time of 21.39 in the 200 meters, which was good for 23rd place, but the freshman from Baytown was unable to move on to the national semifinals in Eugene, Ore.
Meanwhile, the Roadrunners' 1,600m foursome of Jurmarcus Shelvin, Robinson, Keyunta Hayes and Christopher Hall passed the baton in 3:09.02 en route to a 20th-place finish in the field of 24.
Hayes and Shelvin will represent UTSA in the 400m hurdles at the NCAA Championships and the national semifinals are scheduled for 8:10 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday, June 12, at historic Hayward Field. The eight-man final is slated for 8 p.m. (CT) two days later.
