AUSTIN — Grace Kohler was victorious in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the second time in four tries this spring and that highlighted Saturday's action for the UTSA women's track & field team at the Longhorns Invitational.
Kohler raced to a personal-record time of 11:08.94 (No. 4 on UTSA's all-time performers list) to top the field of six distance runners and it was her second victory of the season on the Mike A. Myers Stadium oval.
Meanwhile, Whitney Flannel produced the Roadrunners' other podium finish of the one-day meet following her second-place performance in the high jump. The senior from West Columbia cleared 5-8 ¾ (1.75m) for her fifth top-two finish in seven outings this spring.
UTSA will return to action in two weeks at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships. The three-day meet is scheduled to get underway on Thursday, May 14, in El Paso.
