The Roadrunners (22-15) got off to a hot start, as they combined for nine runs between the second, third and fourth innings to jump to a 9-5 lead.
Geonte Jackson scored UTSA's lone run in the second when he came home on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch.
In the following inning, a pair of base hits and a passed ball scored Kevin Markham, C.J. Pickering, John Bormann and Trent Bowles. Three of the four who scored in the third inning crossed home plate for the second time in the fourth.

Nolan Trabanino received the no decision as he went 3.2 innings and matched a season-best of five strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Cody Brannon earned the win as he tossed four innings in relief. The lefty struck out six batters and allowed one run on two hits.
The Bobcats added runs in the next two innings but fell short, as Brannon held Texas State scoreless in the last three innings with five strikeouts.
All but one Roadrunner recorded at least one hit, as Markham went 3-for-5 with two runs and a double, while Pickering went 2-for-4 and matched a career-high three runs.
UTSA will return to Conference USA action this weekend at No. 16 Rice (23-15, 11-7 C-USA). The three-game series is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
