AUSTIN — Keyunta Hayes was victorious in the 400-meter hurdles and UTSA recorded a total of four podium finishes at Saturday's Texas Invitational.
Hayes won his specialty event for the second time in three meets this spring after crossing the finish line in 50.25, while teammate Jurmarcus Shelvin was third in 51.48.
The Roadrunners added a pair of third-place performances at the one-day meet.
Christopher Hall raced to a bronze medal in the 400m with a career-best time of 46.73 and that moved him into a second-place tie on the program's all-time performers list.
Meanwhile, Kelsey Benoit was third in the shot put with his personal-record measurement of 56-7 ¼ (17.25m) and that toss now ranks fourth on the school's all-time chart.
UTSA racked up 54 points and finished seventh in the team standings. Meet host Texas won the crown with 187, while Minnesota (97) and Sam Houston State (84.5) rounded out the top three.
The Roadrunners will return to action next week at the Mt. SAC Relays. The three-day meet is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 16.
