FORT MYERS, Fla. — UTSA saw its weekend road trip to the Sunshine State come to an end on Sunday with 6-1 setback at Florida Gulf Coast.
The Eagles (7-9) came out on top on the first and third doubles courts to take an early lead against the Roadrunners (9-11).
They then went on to caputre five of the six singles contests to clinch the victory.
UTSA's lone victory of the match came at the top spot in the lineup when Miriam Rosell Canudas came away with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph against Sarah Means. It was her team-leading 12th singles win of the campaign and the sophomore from Torello, Spain, now has come off the court on top in nine of her last 11 outings.
The Roadrunners will return to action next Saturday, April 4, for an 11 a.m. match against Southern Miss (8-9), which will be their final home match of the season.
