SAN ANTONIO — UTSA's men's and women's track & field teams will return to action this weekend at the prestigious Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin. The four-day meet began on Wednesday at Mike A. Myers Stadium, but the Roadrunners will not begin competition until Thursday evening. The men will compete in nine events, while the women will particpate in a half dozen.
The Longhorn Network will televise Thursday's action from 6-9 p.m. and there will be two broadcast windows on Friday (9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m./7-9 p.m.). Fans also can watch the action from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday.
All-American Keyunta Hayes was named Conference USA Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday following his season-opening win in the 400-meter hurdles on Saturday at the UTSA Challenge Invitational. The Tyler native clocked a national-leading and facility-record time of 50.47 en route to the 10th meet title in his specialty event during his illustrious career.
Meanwhile, the UTSA women received four podium finishes at the two-day meet that was contested at the Park West Athletics Complex. The Roadrunners collected a total of three silver medals and one bronze.
