SAN ANTONIO — UTSA received four podium finishes at this weekend's season-opening UTSA Challenge Invitational at the Park West Athletics Complex.
The Roadrunners collected a total of three silver medals and one bronze.
Whitney Flannel tied for second in the high jump with her clearance of 5-7 (1.70m).
Meanwhile, Zoe Meade was runner-up in the two-day heptathlon with 4,618 points and her score was bolstered by a personal-best time of 15.35 in 100-meter hurdles.
The 1,600m relay quartet of Evelyn Clark, Shantel Swift, Paige Patterson and Jennifer Arinze picked up UTSA's other second-place performance after passing the baton in 3:45.89.
Stephanie Wangui placed third and was the top collegian in 800m in personal-best time of 2:10.84.
The Roadrunners finished fourth in the team standings with 50 points. Kentucky (168.5) edged Texas Tech (165.5) for the team title, while Texas rounded out the top three with 101 points.
UTSA will return to action at next week's Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The four-day meet is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 25.
