SAN ANTONIO — UTSA won its second consecutive match on Saturday by downing Texas-Pan American by a score of 6-1.
The Roadrunners (8-6) jumped out to an early lead by capturing the doubles point.
Daniela Garcia-Diaz and Lina Hallgren easily defeated Christel Amsallem and Dominique Esparza, 8-1, on court three, while Nicole Karaklis and Alena Shichkova held off Lison Le Biavant and Mariana Ranzahuer, 8-6, at the second spot in the lineup.
UTSA continued its winning ways by winning five of the six singles contests.
Miriam Rosell Canudas blanked Esparza at the top spot for her fifth consecutive victory and Jacobea Junger followed with a 6-2, 6-0 trimuph against Katia Stavroulaki at the No. 2 position.
Irene Gandara Gonzalez then clinched the match for the Roadrunners with her 6-3, 6-3 win against Natacha Minc on the sixth court and that was her team-leading 10th victory of the spring.
UTSA's other wins of the day came from Hallgren at the fifth spot in the lineup (6-2, 6-2 vs. Ranzahuer) and Shichkova on court No. 3 (3-6, 7-5, 1-0 [10-4] vs. Amsallem).
The Broncs (5-7) got their lone point of the contest from Reegan Greenwood, who rallied for a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 triumph against Karaklis at the No. 4 position.
UTSA will continue its busy weekend on Sunday evening when it hosts former Southland Conference foe Stephen F. Austin (6-4) at 4 p.m.
