SAN ANTONIO — Christian De La Cruz led a trio of Roadrunners competing as individuals at this week's St. Mary's Invitational with a seventh-place finish on Tuesday at The Dominion Country Club (6,937 yards/par 72).
De La Cruz carded a pair of 3-over-par 75s on each day of the 36-hole tournament held in cold and damp conditions. The San Antonio Johnson High School product finished at 6-over 150, four shots behind individual champion Dayton Cargill of UT Tyler, who shot a 76-70—146.
Reed Stegall finished in a tie for 27th with an 80-75—155 and Trace Morrow placed 54th with a 85-75—160.
The Roadrunners will return to action next week when they travel to Lafayette, La., to compete at the Louisiana Classics (March 2-3).
