SAN ANTONIO — Louisiana-Lafayette evened the series on Saturday afternoon when it took an 8-2 decision from UTSA at Roadrunner Field.
Nolan Trabanino (0-1) got the starting nod for the Roadrunners and took the loss over 4.2 innings of work. The junior allowed four runs on six hits and struck out three while giving up one walk.

UL starting pitcher Evan Guillory (1-0) tossed five of those innings to pick up the win. Guillory allowed only one run on five hits and fanned a game-high seven batters.
The visiting team tacked on another two runs in the sixth before catcher John Bormann blasted his second home run of the season and series over the left field wall.
Louisiana-Lafayette (1-1) added to its score once again in the ninth with a pair of runs before shutting down the Roadrunners 1-2-3 in the home half of the frame.
Markham led the Roadrunners going 3-for-4 with one run. Matt Hilston, Bormann, Tyler Straub and C.J. Pickering each had one hit apiece.
