IRVING — Conference USA announced Tuesday that 11 regular season league games have been picked up by American Sports Network (ASN) to air nationally during the 2015 season and UTSA has been chosen to appear twice.
The Roadrunners will first hit the airwaves on Saturday, April 4, when they take on Florida International at 3:30 p.m. (CT). Two weeks later, UTSA’s Saturday, April 18, road contest against intrastate rival Rice will air at 2 p.m.
The two games on ASN makes it three total televised games for the Roadrunners this spring, as their Tuesday, Feb. 17, contest at No. 6 Texas, scheduled for 6 p.m., is slated to be broadcast on the Longhorn Network.
ASN is a collegiate sports initiative owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., that airs C-USA also football and men’s and women’s basketball games on television stations throughout the nation. Sinclair, the largest and one of the most diversified television broadcasters in the country, owns and operates, programs and provides sales services to 162 television stations in 78 markets, reaching approximately 39 percent of U.S. television households and affiliated with all the major broadcast networks.
UTSA will open its season at home on Friday when it welcomes Louisiana-Lafayette to Roadrunner Field for a three-game set. First pitch is scheduld for 6 p.m.
