HOUSTON — The UTSA's women's track & field team wrapped up competition at this weekend's Howie Ryan Invitational & Multis with three podium finishes on Saturday.
One day after breaking the program's 20-year-old high jump record as part of the pentathlon, Whitney Flannel finished third and as the top collegian in her specialty event with a clearance of 5-8 ¾ (1.75m), which was an inch shy of her new school standard.
Meanwhile, the foursome of Kelly Goudeau, Shantel Swift, Jennifer Arinze and Paige Patterson raced to a silver medal in the 1,600-meter relay after passing the baton in 3:51.83.
Stephanie Wangui recorded the Roadrunners' lone third-place performance after clocking a season-best 2:13.93 in the 800m. It marked her third top-three effort to open her junior campaign.
UTSA will return to action in two weeks at the Houston Tune-up, which is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 13.
