Roadrunners to host Middle Tennessee on Thursday night

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will host a pair of games this week, beginning with a 7 p.m. contest against Middle Tennessee on Thursday night at the Convocation Center.

The Roadrunners (9-9, 3-4 C-USA) are coming off a split on the road last week after a win at Marshall and setback at league-leading Western Kentucky. Jeromie Hill earned Conference USA Player of the Week honors by averaging 27 points and eight rebounds in the two games, including a career-high 36-point outing against the Thundering Herd. Fellow senior Keon Lewis also had a stellar week that was capped by a game-high 24 points in the loss at WKU.

Meanwhile, the Blue Raiders (12-8, 5-2 C-USA) have won five of their last six outings, including home wins against Old Dominion and Charlotte last week. Middle Tennessee does not have a player that averages at least 10 points per game, but it ranks second in C-USA in scoring defense (60.5 ppg) and is one of 13 teams in the nation to not allow an opponent to score more than 75 points.

The game can be seen on the American Sports Network (check local listings) with Dave Barnett and Ben Braun calling the action.
