SAN ANTONIO — Fresh off Thursday night's 82-68 victory at Marshall, UTSA will look for its fourth consecutive road win when it takes on Conference USA-leading Western Kentucky at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Jeromie Hill led the way on Thursday with a career-best 36 points for the Roadrunners (9-8, 3-3 C-USA), who topped last season's win total with their ninth victory. The senior went 13-of-22 from the field, including four 3-pointers, to go along with six free throws for the highest individual scoring effort by a C-USA player this season.
Despite early foul trouble, fellow senior Kaj-Björn Sherman continued his hot streak with 14 points against the Thundering Herd. The Mercer Island, Wash., native hit a career-best 10 free throws in the contest and his 82.4 free-throw percentage is tops among all seven-footers in the nation.
Meanwhile, the Hilltoppers (13-5, 6-0 C-USA) are coming off Thursday's 71-66 overtime victory against UTEP. In its first season as a member of C-USA, WKU ranks second in the league in scoring at 73.7 ppg and it is led by T.J. Price's 17.3 points (1st C-USA) and 3.7 assists per outing. The Hilltoppers are riding an eight-game winning streak and have won 12 of their last 14 games overall.
The contest will be televised on FOX College Sports (check local listings) with Randy Lee (play-by-play) and Hal Schmitt (analysis) on the call.
