UTSA to open road swing on Thursday night at Marshall

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will take to the road for a pair of games this week, starting with a 6 p.m. (CT) contest on Thursday at Marshall.

The Roadrunners (8-8, 2-3 C-USA) will be looking for their third consecutive victory away from San Antonio and their second win over the Thundering Herd (4-14, 0-5 C-USA). UTSA won the only meeting between the two programs last season in what was the inaugural Conference USA contest for the Roadrunners.

Jeromie Hill continues to lead UTSA at 15.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Those marks rank seventh and sixth, respectively, in C-USA and are career bests for the senior. He is one of four Roadrunners averaging double figures in points.

Meanwhile, Marshall has lost eight consecutive contests and 14 of its last 15 games overall after a 3-0 start to the season. First-year head coach Dan D’Antoni’s squad is led by Ryan Taylor’s 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. The Thundering Herd are averaging 66.1 points per outing and they are shooting 38.6 percent for the season.
