UTSA to host UTEP on Saturday afternoon

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will resume Conference USA play at 2 p.m. on Saturday when it hosts UTEP at the Convocation Center.

Saturday’s contest between the Miners (11-5, 3-1 C-USA) and Roadrunners (8-7, 2-2 C-USA) will be broadcast on the American Sports Network with Dave Barnett (play-by-play) and Ben Braun (analysis) calling the action. The game can be seen in the San Antonio area on KMYS-CW 35 or on the Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and a free stream is available nationwide on AmericanSportsNet.com.

UTSA is coming off a 68-43 win at Texas-Pan American on Monday in its final non-conference tilt of the campaign. Jeromie Hill, who ranks fifth in C-USA in scoring (15.9 ppg) and tied for fourth in rebounding (7.1 rpg), led four players in double figures with 18 points. In addition, with seven boards in the contest he became just the fourth player in program history to surpass 700 career rebounds.

Meanwhile, UTEP has won 11 of its last 12 C-USA road games and has won six of the seven matchups with UTSA. The Miners are led by Vince Hunter, who is the only league player averaging a double-double with 16.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

While supplies last, fans will receive a free mini basketball at the door courtesy of San Antonio Chevy Dealers. Food trucks from KHILL BBQ Company and Cheesy Jane’s will be serving food in the plaza in front of the Convocation Center.
