SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will take to the road for the first time this season when it heads west for an 8:30 p.m. (CT) matchup at Northern Arizona on Wednesday night. The contest will be televised on FOX Sports Arizona and FOX College Sports Pacific.
The Roadrunners (2-3) lead Conference USA and rank 55th in the nation in scoring at 76.6 ppg. UTSA features three of the league’s top 11 scorers, led by senior Jeromie Hill’s 16.4 points per outing. Ryan Bowie, who scored a season-high 29 points on Sunday, ranks among the conference’s top 15 in six categories, including minutes (t-1st/35.40 mpg), steals (t-4th/1.6 spg), points (8th/15.8 ppg), rebounds (10th/7.0 rpg), 3-point field goals made (t-13th/8) and field goal percentage (15th/.508).
The game will be a homecoming for Larry Lewis Jr. (Scottsdale), Gino Littles (Phoenix), George Matthews (Phoenix) and Lucas O’Brien (Chandler), who all hail from the Grand Canyon State, while Edwin Olympio attended Westwind Prep Academy in Phoenix last season.
Meanwhile, the Lumberjacks (2-5) have lost three of their last four and will be playing just their second home game of the season.
Northern Arizona took the only previous meeting between the teams, 74-63, to open the 2013-14 season in San Antonio.
