Roadrunners to face undefeated TCU on Saturday night

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will close a four-game stretch of contests away from the Alamo City a 7 p.m. on Saturday night, when it travels to Fort Worth for a matchup with undefeated TCU.

The Roadrunners (4-4) are coming off a 73-60 win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday. Ryan Bowie, who ranks fourth in Conference USA at 16.4 ppg, went 8-of-12 from the field and drained a season-high four 3-pointers to lead UTSA with 20 points. He has topped 20 points in three of his last four games and is averaging 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in that span.

UTSA will enter the contest with a scoring average of 76.9 ppg, which ranks second in C-USA and 38th in the nation. The squad features three of the league's top 11 scorers and it is averaging 77.3 ppg in its three road games.

Meanwhile, the Horned Frogs (10-0) are off to the best start in school history and are one of nine remaining unbeatens in Division I. TCU already has surpassed last season's win total of nine and it has claimed wins this season over Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Washington State. Third-year head coach Trent Johnson's squad ranks third in the Big 12 in scoring (75.0 ppg) and scoring defense (55.6 ppg).
