King leads UTSA to 57-31 victory against Incarnate Word on Sunday

SAN ANTONIO — Kamra King and Crystal Chidomere both scored in double figures to lead UTSA to a 57-31 victory against Incarnate Word in Sunday's final game of the UTSA Thanksgiving Classic.

King led all scorers with 14 points as she was named to the all-tournament team, while Chidomere netted a season best 11 on 5-of-7 shooting to go along with three blocks, three assists and two rebounds. Fellow all-tournament team selection Mannasha Bell scored eight for the Roadrunners with eight boards off the glass, which all came in the first half.

UTSA (3-2) dominated out of the gate, as it held the Cardinals (2-4) to 12 points in the opening half. Incarnate Word missed 10 shots down the stretch to go scoreless over a span of 10 minutes. The Roadrunners, who shot 33 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes, headed into the locker room with a 28-12 halftime advantage, as Bell and King combined for 16 points during the half. UTSA closed out the frame with a 19-4 run.

King had the hot hand to start the second half, as she scored six of the Roadrunners' seven points through the first 2:29. UTSA eventually pulled away by holding the Cardinals scoreless through a three-minute span and it ended the contest with a 7-1 run to finish off the 26-point victory.

The Roadrunners held a 51-35 edge on the glass and they added 10 blocked shots.

UTSA will hit the road for a Tuesday night matchup at UT Arlington (3-1). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
